The 2024 MLB trade deadline has arrived as Tuesday's 6 p.m. deadline nears.
There's been massive deals throughout MLB already, with the Rays' proving to be sellers moving on from a number of players in there organization, moving the likes of outfielder Randy Arozarena to the Mariners and the Orioles adding starter Zach Eflin, reliever Seranthony Dominguez and outfielder Cristian Pache.
Both the Yankees and Mets have already proven to be buyers leading up to trade deadline, with both New York franchises adding pieces in the days prior as they look to make a deep run in the postseason this October.
Here are the moves on trade deadline day:
Mets aren't done, add Tyler Zuber from Rays
The Mets make another move a little over an hour until the deadline, acquiring Zuber, a reliever from Tampa Bay in exchange for pitcher Paul Gervase.
Padres swing for the fences, make huge trade with Marlins
The biggest move of the day comes out West in San Diego, with the Padres acquiring the coveted reliever Tanner Scott and right-handed pitcher Bryan Hoeing in exchange for left-hander Robby Snelling, right-hander Adam Mazur, and infielders Graham Pauley and Jay Beshears.
Three of the four prospects heading to Miami ranked inside the top-six in the Padres' farm system as San Diego aims to go all in this year.
Twins acquire Trevor Richards from Blue Jays
Minnesota becomes one of the last postseason contenders to make a move this deadline, grabbing a reliever in Richards from Toronto.
Mets bolster rotation, trade for Paul Blackburn from Athletics
The Mets busy deadline continues, as they've acquired Blackburn and send Kade Morris to Oakland in the deal.
The 30-year-old right hander returned on July 26 after missing more than two months with a foot injury. He allowed four runs on five hits in five innings of work, but picked up his fourth victory of the season in the Athletics' 5-4 victory last Friday night.
Rangers add Andrew Chafin
The defending World Series champion have traded for Chafin, a left-handed reliever who's only allowed one run over 10 1/3 innings pitched with a microscopic 0.87 ERA in July and 16:4 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Royals acquire Paul DeJong, Lucas Ercerg
Kansas City made two deals in short time, acquiring DeJong, a shortstop from the White Sox and Ercerg a reliever from the Athletics.
Don't be surprised if the Royals aren't done here, as they continue their quest to for their first playoff appearance and American League Central division crown since the franchise won their second World Series in team history back in 2015.
Yankees send reliever Caleb Ferguson to Astros
After acquiring reliever Mark Leiter Jr. earlier this afternoon, the Yankees have traded Ferguson to Houston for a minor leaguer and international pool money, according to Jack Curry of YES Network.
Ferguson was having a successful month of July until he allowed four runs (two earned) two hits, a walk and a home run in a 1/3 inning pitched in the Subway Series finale versus the Mets on July 24. He made two final appearances in Pinstripes, tossing two shutout innings this past weekend against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.
Guardians acquire Alex Cobb from Giants
Cleveland made its first move by trading for Cobb in exchange for pitching prospect Jacob Bresnahan and a player to be named later, via Zack Meisel of the Athletic. The 36-year-old starter has yet to pitch in 2024 due to shoulder and hip injuries but was projected to make his first start of the season this coming weekend.
Diamondbacks add Josh Bell in wake of Christian Walker injury
The Diamondbacks have acquired Bell and sent $2.25 million to the Marlins in return. This comes after Walker, a two-time Gold Glove winner in 2022 and 2023, suffered a strained oblique in Arizona's 9-8 come-from-behind victory over the Nationals on Monday night.
Bell will have big shoes to fill as Walker's tied with a team-high in doubles (20) and RBIs (71) and second in home runs (23). The 33-year-old was on pace for a third consecutive 30+ homer season and to set career-highs in RBIs (107) and walks (73).
Orioles' land reliever Trevor Rogers from Marlins
Baltimore adds some bullpen help with acquiring Rogers from Miami in exchange for second baseman Conor Notby (Orioles' No. 7 ranked prospect) and outfielder Kyle Stowers, according to Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic.
This is huge for the Orioles as they continue to battle the Yankees for the American League East crown and get the southpaw with two more years of team control after already trading for starting pitcher Zach Eflin on July 26.
Yankees sign Brett Phillips, position player turned pitcher
The Yankees continue to add arms for the bullpen, bringing in Phillips on a minor league contract.
The 30-year-old notably transitioned from an outfielder to a pitcher in 2024, as he'll report to Class A Tampa, according to Marc Tompkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
Yankees get their reliever, trade for Mark Leiter Jr. from Cubs
The first trade of the day happens in the Bronx, with the Yankees acquiring Leiter Jr. from the Cubs in exchange for infielder Ben Cowles and reliever Jack Neely, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Bullpen depth was one of the key areas of need the Yankees were targeting at the deadline, with multiple relievers currently on the injured list.
It's fate that Leiter Jr. ends up in Pinstripes, with his dad, Mark, and uncle, Al Leiter, both pitching for the Yankees early in their respective careers.
The 33-year-old has a 2-4 record with a 4.21 ERA in 39 outings in 2024. He's been perfect so far in July, not allowing a single run or baserunner in 7 2/3 innings pitched (23 batters faced, 23 outs recorded) with 14 strikeouts in seven appearances.
The right-hander has a 34.9 strikeout percentage this season, 11th best in MLB among pitchers with 30 or more innings pitched.
Mets' send Josh Walker to Pirates
The first move on trade deadline day happens in Queens, with the Mets' trading Walker to the Pirates in exchange for left-hand pitcher Nicolas Carreno, according to Robert Murray of Fansided.
Walker had a 5.11 ERA in 10 appearance this season and was recently designated for assignment by the Mets.
Yankees acquire Jazz Chisholm Jr. from Marlins
The first major move the Bronx Bombers made was trading for Chisholm Jr. in exchange for infielder Jared Serna (Yankees' No. 19 ranked prospect), catcher Augustin Ramirez (Yankees' No. 20 ranked prospect) and shortstop Abrahan Ramirez.
It was clear one of the main needs the Yankees had to attack prior to the deadline was a player with a talent such as Chisholm Jr. The 26-year-old left handed hitter checks all three boxes they needed: quality hitter (.251 batting average), aggressive on the base paths (23 stolen bases) and can play multiple positions (second base, third base and outfield).
Chisholm Jr. has made an immediately impact with the franchise, picking up his first hit and stolen base in Pinstripes in the series finale against the Red Sox on Sunday night. Then, he clubbed two-home runs -- his fourth multi HR game and first since June 10, 2022 -- in the Yankees' dominant 14-4 victory in the series finale on Monday night against the Phillies.

Mets acquire Jesse Winker from Nationals
Once to be thought as sellers, the Mets, who have turned things around since being 11 games under .500 on June 2, are now buyers.
The organization traded for the left-handed Winker from Washington in exchange for pitching prospect Tyler Stuart, the No. 17 overall prospect in the Mets' farm system on July 27 according to MLB Pipeline.

This move helps out the Mets in multiple ways, with the organization needing an additional left-hander in their lineup and outfield help with starting right field Starling Marte still on the injured list with a bone bruise in his right knee that he suffered on June 22.
The New York native has enjoyed a nice bounce back season, slashing .257/.374/.419 with 11 home runs and 45 in RBIs in 101 games with the Nationals after hitting below .200 (.199) with only one home run with back injuries limiting him to only 61 games played with the Brewers in a injury riddled 2023 campaign.
In his first start with the Mets, Winker finished 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in the Mets' 15-2 thrashing of the Twins on Monday night at Citi Field.
