On July 22, 2024, officers from the Chambersburg Police Department (CPD) responded to reports of a disturbance at Southgate Mall. Citizens had called the police after noticing a male who appeared to be passed out in front of the Family Dollar Store. When officers arrived, the individual was no longer present in the area.
