The owner of Habanero Tacos and Grill said he wants to serve his customers a little bit of everything. His restaurant — and favorite dish there — reflect that wish. Jamie Hernandez del Cied and his brother-in-law, Osmar Rosa, opened their Mexican restaurant on South Jefferson Street in 2022.
Truck rolls into Herrs Ridge tree
While investigating a supposed crash, Cumberland Township Police learned a truck was not driven into a tree, according to a release issued by Cumberland Township Police Pfc. Ryan Eiker. CTPD was dispatched to the area of 1559 Herrs Ridge Road about 11: 17 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a motor vehicle crash, according to the release. Investigation found a Ford F-150, was being operated by Charles Lee of Gettysburg, according to police. “Lee exited the vehicle and forgot to put the vehicle in park, and the vehicle drifted forward, striking a tree next to a house,” the release reads. Developers break ground on affordable housing project on East Patrick Street
A developer has broken ground on a new affordable-housing development on East Patrick Street. The development, called Overlook East, will include 85 units across three buildings and have capacity for more than 300 people. Scheduled to open in late 2025, it is meant to serve people and families making up to 60% of the area median income.

Princess promoting dairy industry at South Mountain Fair
The South Mountain Fair may soon be known as a “moo-untain” of fun with all the dairy events and activities for all ages this week. The 102nd South Mountain Fair opened Tuesday and runs through Saturday with $8 admission for everyone except infants in rear-facing car seats who gain admission for free. The gate admission cost includes all carnival rides and entertainment at the fairgrounds, located at 615 Narrows Road, Biglerville.

Retail Theft Reported at Sheetz in Chambersburg
On July 20, 2024, Chambersburg Police were called to the Sheetz store located at 875 Norland Avenue after a retail theft was reported by store employees. According to the police, the incident occurred around 3:00 AM when four individuals entered the store.
