    PORTLAND, Maine — A man is facing serious charges after allegedly assaulting two individuals with a baseball bat in a violent altercation over the weekend. The incident occurred around 3:37 p.m. on Saturday in a wooded area behind the Homeless Services Center on Riverside Street, according to the Portland Police Department.

    The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Ramon Nunez-Rosario, is accused of striking two different people with the bat, causing severe injuries. Both victims were transported to the hospital, with one of them initially reported to have life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, police have since confirmed that the victim's condition has stabilized.

    Suspect Arrested and Charged

    Following a swift investigation, Nunez-Rosario was arrested on Monday and is now facing charges of elevated aggravated assault and aggravated assault.
