Olmsted County Fair goers say the fair has a lot to offer this year
ROCHESTER, Minn.- The Olmsted County Fair has been going on for several days and visitors have reported that there is a lot to be excited about on Thursday, July 25. KIMT News 3 spoke with several fair goers enjoying llama and alpaca shows, funnel cakes and carnival rides like Gold Star’s Insanity 360.
Keeping history alive at the George Stoppel Farmstead
ROCHESTER, Minn. - The History Center of Olmsted County is working to preserve the George Stoppel Farmstead. A lecture was held on July 25 and dove into the immigration of the family behind these historical buildings- the Stoppel brothers- who came from Germany in the 1800's and arrived in Minnesota before it was even a state.

Renamed Street Honoring Veteran Advocate Changes Address of One of Rochester’s Most Cherished Landmarks
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A street in Rochester was recently renamed to honor a prominent Rochester businessman and veteran advocate. The street is just steps from a memorial he and others played a significant role in building. The new signs are up on the road, which borders Soldiers Field Park.
Frequency One Fest gets underway in Rochester
(ABC 6 News) — All things creative are taking place in Rochester as the Frequency One Fest got underway on Friday. The gates opened earlier on Friday for the festivities, and it will remain that way until Sunday. The festival features 16 bands and over 30 vendors with everything from Hennas, clothes, yoga, and even sound healing.
City of Rochester sends out survey to improve city
ROCHESTER, Minn. - The City of Rochester is looking to see how to make it a better town and that's why they're having a National Community Survey where residents can respond. This week they sent out postcards to 4,200 households in Rochester. They'll have 10 categories of questions and some questions include: Safety, Natural Environment and Mobility. On Aug.11-25 it will be available for everyone on the National Community Survey page.
Jobs Data Show June Was a Record-Setting Month in Rochester Area
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The latest jobs data released by the state shows the Rochester area economy experienced a record-setting month in June. The statistics published by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development shows the size of the local labor force had an all-time high and total employment tied a record set earlier this year.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - On July.26 1990 President George H.W. Bush signed the American Disabilities Act (ADA) into law which prevented discrimination for disabled people. Possabilities Marketing Director Stacy Shones says they have life enrichment classes where they help get disabled people out into the community to do community service and fishing.
