    Deputies pursue fleeing van throughout Raleigh County, two arrested

    BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) Multiple individuals are facing over a dozen charges following a Wednesday morning vehicle pursuit involving a fleeing van which led Deputies through several Raleigh County communities.

    According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office , at approximately 9:45am on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at the Ritter Drive area of Daniels. Responders were advised that a female individual – who would later be identified as Alycia Cook – had fled the scene in a brown van and that two male individuals remained at the scene.

    Lieutenant Redden was en route to the scene of the incident when the van was located, at which point Lt. Redden made an attempt to bring the vehicle to a stop. This initiated a vehicle pursuit that brought Deputies through the Beaver, Raleigh, and Fitzpatrick areas of Raleigh County, according to the RCSO .

    The pursuit was brought to a close in the 1000 block of Sullivan Road and authorities took Alycia Cook into custody. Deputies then responded to the scene or the original incident where a male subject – identified as Jesse Blake – was discovered at the location. Blake was arrested and has been charged with Conspiracy and Petit Larceny, as well as two counts of Breaking and Entering.

    Alycia Cook faces over a dozen charges including Fleeing with Reckless Indifference, First-Offense Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, No Insurance, Second-Offense Driving Suspended Admin, Fleeing While Impaired, Petit Larceny, Conspiracy, Fleeing Causing Property Damage, Fleeing on Foot, Felony Escape from Custody, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Assault on a Government Representative, two counts of Breaking and Entering, and two counts of Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident with Property Damage.
