Local governments in the Triangle will be closed Thursday to observe the Fourth of July holiday.
That means your normally scheduled trash and recycling pickup could be changed — most likely delayed — this week.
Here are the schedules in cities and counties around the Triangle, and when you can expect to have your trash and recycling picked up.
Raleigh 4th of July garbage schedule
Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for Thursday and Friday customers. Thursday pickup moves to Friday, and Friday pickup moves to Saturday.

Cary 4th of July garbage schedule
Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for Thursday customers. All other customers won’t be impacted.

Apex 4th of July garbage schedule
Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for Thursday and Friday customers.
Apex residents can sign up to receive notifications when changes to solid waste collection schedules are made. Visit apexnc.org/1115/Solid-Waste-Collection-Reminders .

City of Durham 4th of July garbage schedule
Curbside collections for garbage, recycling and yard waste will be delayed by one business day . Friday yard waste customers will receive their curbside collections on Monday, July 8.
The Waste Disposal and Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility and the Household Hazardous Waste Center will be closed Thursday and reopen Friday, July 5.

Carrboro 4th of July garbage schedule
There will be no household waste collected Thursday. Instead, Thursday customers will be serviced Friday, and Friday customers will be serviced Monday, July 8.
Yard waste collection will not be impacted .

Chapel Hill 4th of July garbage schedule
Residential trash collection will not be affected , but curbside recycling will not be collected on Thursday.
Starting on Thursday, recycling collection will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. Yard trimmings will not be collected on Thursday without a make-up day.
Orange County Landfill and Waste & Recycling Centers will be closed.
Commercial trash will not be collected Thursday. Collections will be completed by the end of the week.

Garner 4th of July garbage schedule
Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day only for Thursday customers, who will instead be serviced Friday. Residents on Friday routes should place waste curbside for usual Friday pickup.

Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day only for Thursday and Friday customers. (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday routes will not change.)
Yard waste will not be collected Thursday. This week, all collection (including Thursday’s) will occur throughout the week until all are completed.
