With the school year over, it’s no longer just weekend activities that have to be planned. Parents have to worry about what to do with the kids on five more days every week for the foreseeable future.

Regal knows this and is hoping families will make going to the movies a priority this summer.

The theater chain has launched its Summer Movie Express, which offers discounted tickets and concessions on certain weekdays.

The News & Observer’s Summer Desk has the details.

The program runs June 11-Aug. 7 . Movies are shown every Tuesday and Wednesday at 11 a.m.

How much do tickets and snacks cost?

Tickets for the movies included in the Summer Movie Express are $1 each .

Anyone seeing a Summer Movie Express film can buy a $5 Snack Pack , which has a junior-sized drink, snack-sized popcorn and fruit snacks. For $3 more, moviegoers can purchase a Dippin’ Dots add-on.
