There is a level 1 risk of severe weather today with damaging winds as the main threat.

The Triangle and north are the areas impacted by the weather risk this afternoon and evening.

Very moist air will remain in place through Friday.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop each day, resulting in a threat scattered flash flooding today through Friday, especially during the afternoon and evening.

Temperatures reached near 90 on Tuesday but with humidity, it felt like over 100 degrees.

Storms overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday knocked out power for some.

Power is still out in some areas.

Trees were also knocked down due to the heavy winds.

That was a similar pattern for storms as Monday which brought flash flooding to some areas, including a service road alongside 15-501 in Durham. The driver of a white truck crashed into a hole in the ground while trying to cut the corner and avoid the flooded part of the service road.

Dangerously, the crashed truck rested on top of a natural gas line. Because of that, emergency crews had to take extra precautions when working to pull the truck out of the hole.

In Raleigh, more flash flooding trapped a car in quickly rising water. It happened at East Millbrook Road and Hoyle Drive around 4:30 p.m. Traffic in the area was detoured toward Capital Boulevard, causing major backups.

ABC11 crews on the scene said the water flooding East Millbrook Road was around 2 feet deep.

There are no reports of serious injuries from the storms.
