A second Raleigh location of the sandwich shop PrimoHoagies is planning to open soon. Primo is one of five new restaurants coming to Fayetteville Street this year.

Primo’s second location will be at 121 Fayetteville St., Suite 112. The first Primo location opened in 2021 in North Hills as the brand’s first North Carolina restaurant.

PrimoHoagies was named the best sandwich/sub shop in the country this month in USA TODAY’s 10Best contest.

When will PrimoHoagies open on Fayetteville?

Fayetteville’s PrimoHoagies is expected to open in late 2024 , as long as construction goes to plan, co-owner Jacque Engle told The News & Observer Wednesday. The restaurant added “Coming Soon” signs to its windows this week.

“As we get closer to that time frame, we will have a good idea of the specific date,” she said.

Founded in Philadelphia, Primo has more than 100 locations nationwide, mostly along the East Coast, but as far west as Denver. Primo specializes in Italian-style and deli sandwiches, plus a line of spicy “Diablo” sandwiches, meatball subs and Philly-style roast pork.

The Triangle pair of Primos are owned by franchisees married couple Jacque and Matthew Engle, Amanda Wolsky and Allison Engle.
