Texas woman killed in Andrews Co crash

ANDREWS COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – A woman form Ralls, Texas was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash early Wednesday morning.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said that at about 3:40am on Wednesday, June 26, a 2012 Mack CXU truck was heading east on State Highway 176, attempting make a U-turn. Meanwhile, a 2003 Freightliner Coronado was travelling west on SH 176. As the Mack truck was making its U-turn, the Coronado crashed into the truck in the westbound lane of SH 176.

The driver of the Mack CXU, 53-year-old Catherine Ann Koonsman, of Ralls, Texas, was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Mary Jane Baeza.

The driver of the Coronado was reported to have serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
