Giorgio Kirylo, a former Marine and passionate San Diego community activist, has tragically passed away at the age of 38. Giorgio "George" Kirylo, was born June 1, 1986. After a career as a member of the elite United States Marine Forces Special Operations Command, he retired from the military in 2021 after multiple combat deployments. He then redirected his focus from battles overseas to addressing the challenges in his home city of San Diego, particularly those within what he deemed to be a broken governmental system.

San Diegans expecting to vote on a critical measure to fund the city's failing stormwater infrastructure in November will have to wait, as the measure has been pulled from the ballot.
