Probably since its inception, the most enduring debate about the Glen Winget Memorial Baseball Tournament has revolved around just the right amount of teams.It started out in 1959 as an 12-team event and varied between eight squad to 12 squads in the next 60-plus years.By an unexpected late drop-out, the 65th Annual Winget tourney — which starts on July 4 — will feature 10 teams.The two longest-participating crews are the host Bartlesville Doenges Ford boys and the Springfield (Mo.) Two days away from one of the biggest sporting events in Bartlesville every year. The Glen Winget Tournament is celebrating its 65th year in downtown Bartlesville. The Doenges Ford Indians will have had a week off before they play Springfield Kickapoo in their first matchup of the event on Thursday night.

Vashus Begins at Bruin Wrestling Coach
We are in the depths of the offseason, with the OSSAA dead week here. There is no activity for any high school athlete across the state of Oklahoma. At Bartlesville High, Bruin wrestlers are starting to meet their new head coach. Bryan Vahsus was hired in the spring out of Colorado to replace longtime former skipper Josh Pulsifer. Pulsifer resigned in the middle of the 2023-24 season.
