This Encinitas Farm Will Fuel a New Farm-to-Table Restaurant and Brewery
A farm-to-table restaurant emerging next month in Encinitas may boast the shortest distance from the farm to its tables. Located just a few miles east of coastal Leucadia, Fox Point Farms is a new two-acre organic regenerative farm that is also the centerpiece of a planned community revolving around agriculture, aka an “agrihood”, that is the first to come online in San Diego.
Encinitas Embraces Sustainable Living with Launch of Fox Point Farms Agrihood, Brewing, and Dining Experience
Encinitas, often celebrated for its surf culture and laid-back lifestyle, has hopped on the farm-to-table bandwagon with a twist unique to the beachside town. Launching its first "agrihood," the community is now home to Fox Point Farms. This regenerative farm aims to redefine local eating while fostering a connection between residents and the source of their food. According to Eater San Diego, this five-acre organic operation is already drawing attention not only for its agricultural innovation but also as the fertile ground for Haven Farm + Table. This restaurant promises to offer diners views of the fields where their meals begin their journey to the plate.

The Belly Up Celebrates 50 Years with 50 Summer Shows
It’s an unlikely location for one of the best music venues in America: a converted quonset hut in the middle of a design district populated largely by high-end furniture stores, beauty salons, and art galleries. But Solana Beach nightclub Belly Up Tavern has proven its value simply through longevity: This September, the 600-capacity room celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Escondido family makes a film: “Don’t Get Eaten”
As a movie critic, I see all the films the studios release each week. Sometimes I’ll see gems at festivals that never see the light of day. When I heard about a couple who live in Escondido and wrote, starred, directed, and produced their own movie about a zombie attack…I rolled my eyes. But my wife loves zombies, so I checked it out. And we both loved it. This family is adorable (their three nieces are in it too, and cute as buttons). The movie is called “Don’t Get Eaten.”

It’s a beautiful time to be a seafood lover in San Diego. Tuna Harbor Dockside Market occurs every Saturday at the Port of San Diego.
