Boy, do I identify with this one. There's a new study that claims that one out of every three people in Illinois are 'always tired'. I need a nap. How about you?. This is an interesting new study from Talker which sampled a huge amount of people to learn about their energy level (or lack thereof). The big picture takeaway from their questions is that one out of every 3 people say they often or always feel tired even after a good night's sleep. Something is very wrong here.
“Illinois Troops at the Battle of Gettysburg” Leads July 16th TAPS ON TUESDAY
On Tuesday, July 9th, “Taps on Tuesday” was sounded at 6:00 p.m. in a light rain, but the program on “Illinois Troops at the Battle of Gettysburg” was postponed until this week’s “Taps” Program. This week’s program hosts and speakers are Greg Green, Larry Weatherford, and Tara Auter. Rebecca Woodrum will perform the National Anthem, and “Taps” will be presented by Ruth Sowers. “Taps on Tuesday” is held each week between Memorial Day and the day after Labor Day at the Soldiers Circle at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Presented by the Vermilion County War Museum and the Ward Hill Lamon Civil War Roundtable.

Common Ground’s next cooking class is Greek with Chef Alisa DeMarco
After June wrapped up with Moroccan, Common Ground has their next virtual cooking class coming up on Saturday, July 27th with Greek cuisine. Demolition underway of former Durfee School in Decatur
DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Demolition is underway of the former Durfee School in Decatur. The City of Decatur shared video of the demolition on its Facebook page Monday. Gibson Area Swim Team places second in triangular meet
GIBSON CITY – The Gibson Area Swim Team finished second in a triangular meet on Saturday. The GAST finished with a combined score of 161 behind the Milford Dolphins (321) and ahead of the Hoopeston Stingrays (32). The GAST girls finished second with a score of 101 while the boys finished second with a score of 60.
A Taste of Both Worlds is permanently closed
In sad restaurant news, A Taste of Both Worlds, the Filipino-Cambodian restaurant inside Broadway Food Hall, is closed permanently. A Taste of Both Worlds opened at the beginning of 2021 as Champaign-Urbana’s only Filipino and Cambodian eatery. The Urbana food hall vendor served awesome banh mi, delicious sisig, tasty turon, whole tilapia, and boodle fights (a communal meal with food spread across a table) in addition to offering excellent Restaurant Week specials like this num pang burger, crispy fried chicken, and buko pandan.
