Pittston's Margaritaville pop-up honors Jimmy Buffet's legacy this summer
PITTSTON, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — This year will be the first summer without Jimmy Buffet. The “5’O'clock Somewhere” singer passed away last September, but the community continues to celebrate his life, and music. Rikasa in Pittston is keeping his memory alive with a Margaritaville pop-up bar.
Fire damages home in Pittston
PITTSTON, Pa. — Flames damaged a home in Luzerne County on Saturday. Crews were called to a home along Butler Street in the city around 1:30 p.m. "Once it got into the attic, it traveled the ridgeline, which made it a very difficult fire to fight. But after several alarms we got guys in there and started to make some headway," said Chief Frank Roman, Pittston Fire Department.

Bank personnel became suspicious when the person inside in the bank struggled to properly answer questions related to the personal identification information.

We were planning on going to our 20th and final Spring/Summer football game this weekend, but by some luck we ended up with a 21st. This was easily the most football games we have ever attended during the spring and summer months. And although 21 is only a small percentage of the 109 sporting events we have been to so far this year, it has put football on a course to possibly end up as our most watched sport in 2024, a mark held by auto racing every year for Guy since 1973.
