    Freedom Fridays return to Rantoul this month

    RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — Freedom Fridays are back in the Village of Rantoul.

    Downtown Rantoul will host the weekly event from 6 to 9 p.m. every Friday in July. There will be a fun zone for kids, including bounce houses, games and balloon animals. For the adults, there will be a bags tournament with a $250 prize for the winners. Registration for the tournament starts at 6 p.m. and the tournament begins at 7 p.m.

    Shaboozey to headline Illinois State Fair

    Each week will also feature music from a different band, listed below:

    • July 5 – In Bloom, a three-piece band from Danville, that covers genres from jazz to pop
    • July 12 – Bordertown, a country rock band
    • July 19 – The Woodchips, a band featuring different music styles and cultures from around the country
    • July 26 – DJ Silkee, described as Champaign County’s most prominent DJ
