A Raymond man escaped serious injury late Monday night when his SUV went under a tractor-trailer in Gray.

Ryan Carr, 30, was driving a 2013 Subaru Outback on Mayall Road about 11:59 p.m. when he blew through a stop sign at the intersection with Lewiston Road, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Carr went underneath the rear wheels of a tractor-trailer, causing extensive damage to both vehicles, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

Carr was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was treated for minor injuries.

The tractor-trailer’s driver, 30-year-old Jacob Harthorne of Poland, wasn’t injured.

Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
