Two charged in fake carjacking in Pearl
Two people have been arrested after police say they staged a carjacking in Pearl in May. Kenbrosky Santrell Smith, 38, of Jackson; and Chaquinta Lynell Russell, 41, of Byram are charged in the incident that took place May 27 at the Save-A-Lot parking lot. Around 11 a.m., Pearl Police Department got a call from Jackson Police Department saying that a woman had said that she was carjacked at gunpoint in Pearl.

Deputy jailer charged in connection with DeSoto County inmate's escape
MEMPHIS, Tenn — The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) said Monday one person had been arrested in connection with the escape of inmate Joshua Zimmerman from a DeSoto County courthouse.
