Grandfather and grandson aiming to reduce amount of discarded fishing line
Emmett Mcintyre and his grandson James were fishing at river park pier when they noticed a fair amount of monofilament line or fishing line. With the help of the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources and the City of Pascagoula they were able to install a monofilament recycling station at River Park.
Another very hot several days will be in store for our area
High pressure gave our area nice sunny skies and very hot temperatures on our Monday. We saw heat index values pretty much in the same category as the air temperatures. We will continue to see dry conditions as the rule across our area over the next few days due to high pressure continuing to dominate our weather forecast. We will see the heat index values stay on par with the air temperatures due to the dry air in our area. We will continue to see plenty of sunshine as the rule through our Thursday.

The rumors are true: Barracuda is expanding again and will open its first taco stand on the Mississippi Coast. The new restaurant will open in downtown Bay St. Louis in the former cottage that was once Buttercup on Second Street, owner Brett Jones confirmed Monday.
