Bombers drop doubleheader to Cane Cutters
YOUNGSVILLE, La. – The Acadiana Cane Cutters swept a doubleheader with the Brazos Valley Bombers on Sunday night in Texas Collegiate League play. The Cane Cutters grabbed a 5-4 walk-off victory in the opener in 11 innings to snap the Bombers’ eight-game winning streak. Acadiana added a 7-5 victory in the nightcap. The Bombers led 3-0 and 5-2 in trying to salvage a split, but the Cane Cutters scored the last five runs.

Louisiana Ranked as Hardest Place to Save
Forbes Advisor has released a new study, ranking states by how difficult it is to save money as a resident of each respective state. According to the original research, the national personal savings rate has decreased from 20% in 2020 to 3.8% as of January 2024. This Lafayette location appears to be on list of store closings for national discount retailer
Discount retailer Big Lots said earlier this month it planned on closing 35-40 locations, citing decreased customers spending. Locations for prospective closures and the timeframe for such closures weren’t disclosed at the time.
