Only a few weeks remain before the return of high school football in the Greater Taunton area.
Ahead of the tryouts and training camps, and before the first kickoff whistle sounds under those famed Friday night lights in the Greater Taunton area, the Taunton Daily Gazette is kicking off our 2024 high school football coverage with a look at all four area team's schedules, and next up is Bridgewater-Raynham.
The Trojans are coming off a 4-7 season, one which started off slow but picked up as they adopted a run-first offensive approach and ended the season on a three game win streak. The Trojans will hope to keep that momentum rolling this year under new head coach Eian Bain, with the Raynham resident taking the helm after a successful eight years in Franklin, including winning the 2021 Hockomock Kelley-Rex crown.
Another change for B-R comes with the Southeast Conference, as Durfee, Brockton and New Bedford reformed the Big 3 Conference, while the Trojans and Dartmouth plan on continuing the SEC together with future expansion plans. Regardless, B-R still has all four schools scheduled this fall, but have ended their two year series with Milford and four years series with defending Division 1 champions Xaverian in exchange for a pair of intriguing opponents from Plymouth County.
