1000-Lb. Sisters Star Amy Slaton Arrested at Zoo for Drug Possession and Child Endangerment

Imagine you’re at the zoo and then all of a sudden, you see Amy Slaton from 1000-Lb. Sisters getting taken away in handcuffs. This became the unfortunate reality for folks visiting the Tennesse Safari Park this weekend.

While most visitors were there to enjoy the animals, apparently Amy had other plans. The cops arrested her at the zoo for drug possession and child endangerment. It’s a trip to the zoo that she’ll surely never forget, and we’ve got all of the disappointing details.

First, let’s set the scene here. According to the New York Post , the cops were called to the safari park after receiving a report of someone getting bitten by a camel. Is that enough to call the cops over? Apparently.

When the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department arrived, they said they were “immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle.”

Now, that’s obviously pretty vague. There are a lot of cars out on the road emanating suspicious odors. It could have just been an old White Castle bag under her seat. However, the cops could sense that something seemed off, and they were right.

According to the sheriff’s department, they took away Amy into custody right there at the zoo, They charged her with illegal possession of Schedule I and Schedule VI drugs and two counts of child endangerment. The camel remains at large.

The arrest records don’t indicate what type of drugs Amy allegedly had in her possession, but a schedule VI drug could be something simple like marijuana . Although it’s legal in most states, there are still some states out there that treat it like some sort of hardcore crime. Schedule I, however, is much more serious. That’s going to be your heavy-duty stuff.

It’s not clear if Amy was the one bit by the camel because she wasn’t alone at the time of the arrest. The cops also took Brian Scott Lovvorn into custody and hit him with the same charges.

The cops didn’t release any additional information about the pair. It’s unclear if they’re still in custody. They did, however, issue a reminder that Amy and Brian are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Regardless, let this be a learning lesson. Don’t have drugs at the zoo with your kids in the car.
