    Main Street Kent Art & Wine Festival features live music, Ohio wine and local food

    The Main Street Kent Art & Wine Festival, presented by The River Merchant, will take place Saturday, June 1 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in downtown Kent.

    The event will feature 58 artists, eight live music performances, 13 Ohio wineries, and eight local food vendors on North Water Street and at the Hometown Bank Plaza.

    North Water Street will be closed from Main Street to Portage Street from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

    Live music will be performed at Hometown Bank Plaza and the Brewhouse patio.

    Featured groups at Hometown Bank Plaza:

    • Ray Flanagan at 11 a.m.;
    • Triplets of Belleville at 1 p.m.;
    • The Baker’s Basement at 3:30 p.m.; and
    • Cory Grinder and the Playboy Scouts at 6 p.m.;

    Bands featured at the Brewhouse patio:

    • Federico Tribuzzo Plays Smooth n Blue at 11:30 a.m.
    • Gaetano Letizi and the Underworld Blues Band at 1 p.m.;
    • The Marilyn DeFrange Band at 3:30 p.m.; and
    • City of Invention at 6 p.m.

    Tickets will be available at the event for $25 each, which will include a commemorative wine glass and 10 wine tasting tickets. Additional taste tickets will be available for purchase.     This year’s featured Ohio wineries include Cherry Road Winery, CLE Urban Winery, Feisty Brood Meadery, Ferrante Winery, It’s Your Winery, Lincoln Way Vineyards, Lost Trail Winery, McAlpine Meadery, NautiVine Winery, Troutman Vineyard & Winery, West Main Street Win-ery, Winery at Versailles, and Winery at Wolf Creek. Local food providers include Brook Home-style BBQ, Daisy Pops, Erie Street Kitchen, GRAZERS (inside), Mamacita’s, Popped!, Roll Call Burgers & Fries and The Eccentric Panda.

    The Main Street Kent Art & Wine Festival is presented by The River Merchant, and is sponsored by Hometown Bank, Acorn Alley, KLABEN Auto, Portage Community Bank and AMETEK. Proceeds will benefit Main Street Kent, the non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, beautification and preservation of downtown Kent.
