FirstEnergy Corp reported that equipment damage is responsible for a loss of power for about 2,600 of its customers in Portage County's northwest quadrant as of about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, including nearly 2,000 in Streetsboro and more than 600 in Shalersville Township.

Streetsboro police say that some traffic signals may not be working, especially along State Route 303. Intersections with non-functioning traffic signals should be treated as four-way stops.

A repair crew has arrived on scene and the estimated restoration time is currently by 10:30 a.m., but this is subject to possible change.
