Brazilian fugitive arrested in Connecticut for firearms charge
HARTFORD, Connecticut — Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston apprehended a previously deported Brazilian fugitive wanted in his home country for a firearms charge. Deportation officers from ERO Boston’s Hartford field office arrested the 39-year-old unlawfully present fugitive on July 11 near his residence in Danbury. “This Brazilian fugitive attempted to flee a firearms charge in his home country and take up refuge in Connecticut,” said ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons. “We cannot allow our communities to become safe havens for the world’s criminals.
