Women’s Hockey Earns 15 All-American Scholars
BOSTON, Mass. — For a consecutive year, the Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team grabbed national recognition for their work in the classroom. This season 15 Pioneers have been named Krampade All-American Scholars through the American Hockey Coaches Association. SM&NC Receives New Canaan Community Foundation in Support of Special Needs Programming. Photo Caption: The Stamford Museum & Nature Center received a $2,000 grant from New Canaan Community Foundation to help fund “Animals for All,” a free program series designed exclusively for neurodiverse individuals and their families. Launched in 2022 thanks to grant funding and community support, the SM&NC offers three different Animals for All program formats: Heckscher Farm Open Evenings, which allow families to explore the SM&NC’s beloved Heckscher Farm after-hours at their own pace, and the program duo Caring for Critters and Caring for Exotic Critters, which both provide opportunities to work with live animals in small group settings.
Proposed $3 million deal ending City’s 8-year conflict with Housing Authority advances to Common Council
A new proposed agreement between the city and the Norwalk Housing Authority, resolving more than eight years of disputes over the nonprofit’s yearly payments to the city, is headed for a Common Council vote. As part of the deal, the Housing Authority would pay the city more than $3 million for past years.
