Environmentalist Lawsuit Opens Door for Deadly, Destructive Wildfire
A Montana wildfire that is charring forestland just east of Helena, Montana, and led to the death of a firefighter may be able to trace its roots to a courtroom. Approved in 2021 by the US Forest Service, the Middleman Project planned logging and prescribed burning treatments across 53,131 acres in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest (HLCNF) within the Big Belt Mountain Range. The goals were to enhance wildlife habitat, improve forest health and reduce the possibility of wildfire.

$35,000 Car Gets Stolen Twice in the Same Week in Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 4, 2024, a 2022 Toyota Camry vehicle was stolen from a Missoula business when it was parked there overnight. There were no leads and no video. On July 6, 2024, the car was located near Motel 6 on East Broadway and returned to the owners. Police were unable to determine a suspect at that time. The vehicle was damaged and taken to a local autobody shop by the owners.
