Two fire departments merge to create Central Douglas Fire and Rescue
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. – Two Douglas County fire departments are merging to expand protection for multiple communities. Douglas County Fire District No. 2 and the Winston-Dillard Fire District have combined as of July 1. The result is a new agency now known as Central Douglas Fire and Rescue (CDFR).
PRESCRIBED PASTURE BURN SCHEDULED THROUGH WEDNESDAY
A prescribed pasture burn is tentatively scheduled through Wednesday, near the intersection of Driver Valley Road and Old Pioneer Road in the Oakland area. Douglas Forest Protective Association Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said a blanket permit has been issued. Pope said smoke may be visible in the area from 10:00 a.m. until the end of each day.
