Davenport returns to lead H.O. Brittingham Elementary
A familiar face has returned to Milton, with the announcement of Yvette Davenport as the new principal of H.O. Brittingham Elementary School. Previously, Davenport served as HOB assistant principal from December 2018 through June 2021, when she accepted a position as principal of Hartly Elementary in the Capital School District. She takes over for Kyle Bentley, who was named head of school at Sussex Academy.
Historic Nassau School renovation update set July 25
The Nassau School Coalition, comprising the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice, the Greater Lewes Foundation, and the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs, will host a public session about the ongoing renovations on the historic Nassau School building. The event is set for 3 to 6 p.m., Thursday, July 25, at the Lewes Senior Activity Center, 32083 Janice Road, Lewes.

Dr. Jonathan Johnson recently presented two $500 college scholarships from Johnson Orthodontics to Alexi Nowakowski of Cape Henlopen High School and Gracie Maughan of Sussex Academy. Vikings Baseball Camp continues with high school players
Cape coach Ben Evick continued his Cape Henlopen Vikings Baseball Camp July 15-18, with high school-aged players at Chris Short Field in Lewes. Evick and and varsity assistant Seth Brosius along with college players Owen Daminger, Barritt Ross and Timmy Hitchcock trained the campers in advanced base running, throwing mechanics, bunting skills, communication, hitting and advanced defensive skill work.
