Rain poured down on a Wednesday in June around the corner of a Garrettsville bank, but that didn’t stop anyone from getting what they were there for. Employees ran to patrons’ cars so they didn’t have to stand in the rain. The orders they were delivering weren’t groceries or coffee.

This year’s Portage County Randolph Fair runs through Aug. 25. Tickets for events are on sale at www.randolphfair.com. The fairgrounds are located at 4215 Fairground Rd. On Aug. 14, the first Edinburg Historical Society meeting was held at Edinburg Town Hall. The organizers of the group went over some history of the township such as talking about Edinburg Lake, two different burial grounds and the fact that we have a soldier in our cemetery that received the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Cookie Crumbl is participating with our Rummage Sale in a fund raiser. Cookie Crumbl will be donating a portion of the sale proceeds to LMHS. You can place your orders up until Thursday 8/22, but I must have payment by Friday 8/23. You can order by responding to this email or stopping at the Manor on Tuesday 8/20 from 10-2 or Friday 8/23 from 9-4. You can pay by sending a check made out to LMHS to PO Box 560146, Macedonia, OH 44056. Just make sure it gets there by Friday, drop it off at the Manor on Tuesday or Friday or go to our website http://www.longwoodmanor.org and use or PayPal account (If you use this method, please add 75 cents to cover handling fees). LMHS has to pay for the cookies when they are delivered. Cookies are to be delivered to the Manor on Saturday 8/24, and you can pick them up on Saturday during the sale. If you can’t come up on Saturday 8/24, we will put them in the refrigerator for pick up on Sunday 8/25 between 1-4 at the Open House. Any cookies not picked up will be donated to the Emergency Assistance Center. 4 pack of cookies is $20.00 and 6 pack is $30.00.

Druski to headline Kent State Homecoming show
Druski, a comedian and actor, will headline Kent State’s Undergraduate Student Government’s Homecoming show on Sept. 26 in the Student Center Ballroom. USG announced Druski as this year’s Homecoming show pick Sunday night at Blastoff, part of KSU Kickoff. The show will be interactive; USG stated students will have the chance to submit entries to participate in a “Coulda Been Records” show, Druski’s satirical record label, live from the stage.
