Correctional officer attacked in another attack at South Dakota Penitentiary
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KFGO/KELO) — State officials are investigating another alleged attack on a correctional officer at the South Dakota Penitentiary in Sioux Falls. The attack happened on Aug. 5, just two days after an officer was “choked out” by an inmate and required medical attention. In the most recent incident, the officer was unable to activate his personal alarm, but managed to alert a co-worker for help.
Police Seek Public’s Help In Newborn’s Investigation
(Sioux Falls, SD) — Sioux Falls Police Chief Jon Thum is asking for the public’s help in the investigation of a deceased newborn found at a recycling center last week. In an interview with KELO-LAND, Thum didn’t say if they have any new information. He did say these types of cases “take time to investigate.” Thum also asked that anyone who may have any information to call Crime Stoppers.
