Think Twice Before Posting Back To School Pictures Iowa Parents
If your social media feed hasn't already been filled with back-to-school posts from proud parents, you and I should trade social media feeds. If you're a parent who plans on making a post like that on August 23rd, you need to be aware of a few things. Authorities are warning...
Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois Hikers HAVE TO Avoid Red Or Purple Paint In The Woods
While many who don't live in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin still don't realize how beautiful it is. We are now a couple years into a new acceptance for paint as markers in the state of Illinois. Many of us love to go for hikes in the Fall. While you are enjoying that natural Illinois beauty you might see trees painted with red or purple paint. Do you know what that means? Many don't realize how important the markings are now, and how important it is to keep an eye out for them.
Back to school: Back to cursive in the classroom under Iowa Education standards
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Cursive is back in Iowa schools. The ability to read and write cursive has been fading from American society. “You just don’t see very many people using cursive because a lot of people are not writing checks anymore,” said Tina Brennan, one of Sioux City Community School District’s consulting teachers.

I was born, raised and educated in Iowa from the mid-1940s through the '60s. As I look back to the Iowa I once knew and the good people I met, I conclude that Iowa was a great place to grow up with a solid Midwestern work ethic, good government and strong civic leadership. ...
Iowa Breaks a Record It Hopes to Never Break Again
The state of Iowa broke a 20-year-old record this year and it's a record that Iowans would be perfectly fine with never breaking again. The worst part about this record-setting year is we're only 2/3rds of the way through 2024. There is still plenty of time for the state of Iowa to add to this total tornado count, which is pretty scary.
