Severe storms knocked down trees Saturday evening
Severe thunderstorms developed over southern Minnesota Saturday evening. These storms prompted the National Weather Service to issue several Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and even Tornado Warnings as there was a confirmed tornado in southeastern Rice County in Minnesota. These storms also produced severe wind gusts, which knocked down trees and powerlines in several locations, including in Rochester, Dodge Center, and Stewartville. A large tree fell in Sandy Hanson's yard in Stewartville after winds gusted over 70 mph there.
