    Library update: Coffee & Coloring offered as a de-stress activity

    The Rice Lake Public Library invites the public to drop in on Thursday anytime between 10:30-11:30 a.m. for Coffee & Coloring. Grab a beverage (coffee, hot cider or hot chocolate) and as many coloring pages desired. De-stress with some coloring therapy. Colored pencils and coloring pages will be available.

    The Lego club meets on Monday, March 4, at 3:30 p.m. The library supplies the Legos, attenders provide the creativity. Completed Lego creations will be put on display at the library.

    The Rice Lake Area Garden Club meets at the library on Tuesday, March 5, at 6:30 p.m. After a short business meeting, Dora Wood, a Chippewa County Master Gardener Volunteer, will present Edible Perennials. Most are familiar with asparagus and rhubarb, but what about all the unusual and under-used berries? How about edible flowers, rose hips and a smorgasbord of perennial herbs? And don't forget about the larger edibles such as fruit trees and fruit-bearing shrubs.

    Stop in for Chessheads on Mondays at 6 p.m. Regular chess games are played on these evenings from 6-9 p.m. Learn how or come to challenge someone to a game.

    SMART Recovery meets at the library on Wednesdays at 7 p.m., led by the Barron County Department of Health & Human Services. This program offers tools and support for families and friends who have a loved one struggling with addiction.

    The Fellowship is a free program for autistic and neurodiverse teens and young adults (ages 16 and older) who wish to form solid connections among like-minded peers meets Saturday mornings. The program is led by Mary Warner and Elise Kallenbach. Registration required at islandsofbrilliance.org/the-fellowship .

    Richard Krohn volunteers his time to help people at the library with technology questions at Computer 101 sessions twice a month at the library. Call 715-234-4861 to set up an appointment or stop in on Monday, March 4, at 1 p.m. with your questions.
