Richfield Fastpitch summer success so far

Richfield Girls Fastpitch Association had six teams qualify for state tournaments June 27-30 with two more teams qualifying for nationals at the end of July including 12U (12-under) Cardinal and 10U (10-under) Black.

Association president Chrissy Cleveland explained how proud of the hard work and dedication it takes to make a successful season become a reality.

“Their achievements reflect their relentless effort, the unwavering support of their coaches and the constant encouragement from their parents,” she said. “We’re excited about the continued growth of our girls’ fastpitch program and the strong partnership we’re building with the high school program. Together, they exemplify true teamwork and perseverance.”

Richfield’s 12U Cardinal team placed second in the home Richfield tournament June 21-22 to qualify for state where they lost both games against tough competition.

The team qualified for nationals by winning the Gold Division in Lakeville in early June and will compete in nationals Aug. 1-4 in Lexington.

Coach Julie Krippner is proud of the girls, coaches and families because it took contributions from everyone to have a successful season.

The Richfield 12U Black team placed ninth in Tier 9 at state.

10U

Richfield’s 10U Black will be at Monsta Nationals at Dred Scott Fields in Bloomington July 24-28. The team won the Bloomington Blast-Off tournament in early June and placed 10th at state with a 1-2 record.

8U Cardinal team members include Aerin De Leon, Alexis Tatge, Alice Styba, Anna Solomonson, Ansley Musco, Audrey Soukup, Cara Larson, Monroe Nelson, Paytyn Iverson, Rainey Jo Rossow and Vivian Kesslar. Head Coach: Ryan Solomonson. Assistant coaches Sean McNamara and Ben Styba.

8U Blake team members include Addison Beckman, Aubrey Nelson, Charli Husaby, Elenor Auer, Haley Trench, Leah Garey, Lila Uran, Lydia Crosby, Lydia Samborski, Olivia Holmes and Tala Lenzen. Head Coach: Tim Nelson. Assistant coaches: Matt Beckman and Jay Garey.
