Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A Richmond Public School bus driver was allegedly involved in a shooting before school hours, outside of the Richmond Technical Center on Friday morning, according to the Richmond Police Department.

Just before 7 a.m. on Friday, May 10, police received a call to the Richmond Technical Center for the report of harassment.

Once on the scene, officers found a man who works as a bus driver at the school, who reported that he and another man – who was not there when police arrived – had been in an “ongoing altercation.”

Officers heard gunshots at around 7:10 a.m. and saw the bus driver and the other man, who was running away from the scene. Police stopped the man who was seen running away and found that he had been shot. He was then taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Richmond Police are now investigating the circumstances of the shooting and have not yet determined charges. Police said no students were on the school bus at the time of the shooting since it took place before the school day and the gun was never on the school bus.
