RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Flying Squirrels dropped game three of their series against the Somerset Patriots on Thursday 6-2.

It’s Richmond’s third straight loss to begin the second half of the Eastern League Season. The Patriots scored the first run of the game in the second inning after Alexander Vargas bounced into a fielder’s choice to score Elijah Dunham.

The Patriots scored again in the fifth inning with an RBI single from Benjamin Cowles to give Somerset a 2-0 lead.

The Flying Squirrels would go on to tie the game in the sixth inning. Turner Hill scored on a throwing error to make things 2-1 and then Carter Howell followed that with an RBI triple to tie things at 2-2.

The Flying Squirrels gave up four runs in the 8th inning and dropped their third straight 6-2.
