PHOTOS: Richmond Makers Market at Basic City Beer Co.

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The monthly popup Richmond Makers Market took place at Basic City Beer Co. on Saturday.

Over 30 local makers and artists gathered for the Richmond Makers Market held from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 to showcase their homemade items and small businesses at Basic City Beer Co., located on 212 W. 6th Street.

“It’s everything from candles, jewelry, crystals, paintings, prints, buttons, stickers, tons of sweets, dog treats, [it’s] a little bit of everything,” said Marie D’Angelo, founder and organizer of Richmond Makers Market. “If someone can make it by hand, we’ve probably got it here.”

The Richmond Makers Market, which has been running since 2019, will take place on the first Saturday of every month for the rest of 2024. For more information, and to find out about upcoming events, visit the Richmond Makers Market’s website.

“It’s a space where instead of people just going and buying something, you’re coming and you’re meeting an artist, you’re learning about their experience. It’s not just, ‘hey that looks cool I want that,’ it’s a whole story, it’s an experience,” D’Angelo said.
