RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Some lanes will close on Forest Hill Avenue for repairs following the collapse of a sewer main in April that caused substantial damage.

The eastbound lanes of Forest Hill Avenue be closed between Joe Brooks Boulevard and Hathaway Road. Both eastbound and westbound lanes of Forest Hill Avenue will share use of westbound lanes during the project.

Access to businesses on Forest Hill Avenue will remain open during construction, and work will be completed in phases.

This section will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 25 and Friday, July 26.

According to Richmond’s Department of Public Utilities, the next phase of work is in the beginning stages of design, which will require the collection of flow data via the installation of temporary flow meters. These meters are scheduled to be installed on Thursday, July 25 and Friday, July 26.
