Multnomah County signs contract with Baltimore-based provider to run drug deflection center
PORTLAND, Ore. — Multnomah County has signed a contract with a drug and alcohol treatment provider to operate its deflection center. Baltimore-based Tuerk House will run the county's deflection center starting on Sept. 1, the county announced on Tuesday. The county selected Tuerk House after multiple providers participated in a solicitation process.

Portland Art Museum Topping Out
The Portland Art Museum (PAM), in collaboration with leading developer and builder, Mortenson, hosted a “topping out” ceremony yesterday to celebrate the completion of the steel structure for the Museum’s new Mark Rothko Pavilion. Opening Fall 2025, the Pavilion is the centerpiece of PAM’s major $111 million campus transformation that will renovate or add nearly 100,000 square feet to the Museum and add new visitor amenities that address the needs of more diverse audiences.
Lewis and Clark Bridge reopens both directions after hours-long closure
LONGVIEW Wash. (KPTV) - The Lewis and Clark Bridge was closed in both directions due to a collision, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. PSU to launch initiative to diversify semiconductor industry
A $1 million grant from the National Science Foundation is kickstarting a new effort at Portland State University to diversify Oregon’s burgeoning semiconductor workforce. PSU’s Diverse Internships for Semiconductor Careers program, or DISC, aims to get more Black, Indigenous and other people of color, as well as women and people from other marginalized communities, into well-paying semiconductor-related jobs. The program offers PSU students in math or chemistry tracks a paid internship in the semiconductor industry, mentorship and a slate of other services like career advising workshops and networking opportunities.
