Lone Rock Man Injured In Iowa County Motorcycle Crash
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office said a 50-year-old Lone Rock man was seriously injured after a motorcycle crash in Iowa County Saturday night. Police officials say 50 year old Daryl Mead Sr. of Lone Rock was traveling south bound on US Highway 151 near Mineral Point around 7:17pm Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected from the motorcycle. Mead was located unconscious in the median and emergency services performed life-saving measures. He was taken to a local hospital by U.W. Med Flight. The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office.

One Person Injured in Accident In Iowa County
The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a motor vehicle crash on US Highway 151 near Exit 44 in the Township of Dodgeville Friday around 5:20pm. The Dodgeville Fire Department, Dodgeville EMS, and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene. The occupant of the vehicle was evaluated at the scene and later transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment. SOS Road Rescue assisted in the removal of the vehicle.

Tweak to dog-bite law improves public safety

On April 16, with no discussion, the Madison Common Council unanimously approved an ordinance amendment to allow humane officers to require that dogs who bite other dogs or people be physically restrained when outside, lest their owners be fined up to $500. Last month, the Dane County Board passed a nearly identical amendment. Both are now in effect.

MADISON, Wis. — Dane County health leaders issued a public warning Thursday after seeing an overdose spike in the county. Since Tuesday, at least 10 people received treatment at local hospitals for suspected opioid overdoses. First responders treated seven other people who reported unusual symptoms after using crack cocaine.
