RIDGEWOOD, NJ – If you have received calls from someone claiming that the Ridgewood Police Department has a warrant out for your arrest, chances are, you are the victim of a scam that has swept through the village in recent days. Ridgewood Police announced that they have numerous reports of residents receiving calls from someone impersonating the police threatening them with arrest if they do not send money.

“No, you probably don’t have a warrant out for your arrest,” the Ridgewood Police Department stated via their official Facebook page. “We assure you that no one from the Police Department is making, or would make, these calls. We do not collect money over the phone.”
