Sunny skies take some communities to the 90s Monday afternoon with heavy air making it “feel like” the mid-90s later in the afternoon. Overcast skies arrive Tuesday to keep afternoon highs in the mid-80s, but dew points will be near tropical as the remnants of Hurricane Beryl are on deck. A few thundershowers are possible late Tuesday, but widespread impact is expected Wednesday as the arrival of Beryl’s remnants is forecast to be late Wednesday or early Thursday. Depending on where these remnants track, we could receive torrential rain and gusty winds here in our region, so stick with us as we get into the mid-week.
Michigan cheer coach accused of having inappropriate behavior with minor, school district says
(CBS DETROIT) - A cheerleading coach at a Michigan high school is being investigated for allegedly having inappropriate interactions with a minor, school district officials said. A Monroe High School cheer coach was placed on administrative leave at the end of the school year for the alleged behavior and has resigned, according to a statement from Monroe Public Schools on Thursday.The school district says rumors of the behavior started circulating in the fall, and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office investigated, but there was no credible evidence to back up the rumors. Expo features inclusive outdoor activities
Good weather and steady attendance helped make the second annual Disabled and Proud Fest Outdoor Expo at Swan Creek Metropark in Toledo a success on Saturday. Attendees didn’t need to be disabled to attend or to take part in the tree climbing, wheelchair basketball, or any of the other inclusive activities going on from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in honor of Disability Pride Month. On hand were organizations that help people with disabilities navigate life, including the co-collaborator of the event, Metroparks Toledo, which showcased its inclusive equipment, like the Action Trackchair, which helps those with mobility difficulties access different parts of the Metroparks. But more than resources, the focus at Disabled and Proud was the community.

VALENCIA, Spain — In a matchup of a player and a coach with the Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team, the Bahamas’ national basketball team defeated Lebanon 89-72 on Saturday in the semifinals of an Olympic qualifying tournament. Lourawls Nairn, Jr., a second-year assistant coach with the Falcons, started for the Bahamas, which advanced to Sunday’s final against Spain. The winner earns a spot in the Paris Olympics. BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University's baseball program was featured on the FS1 pregame show prior to Saturday's MLB game between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. BGSU hall of famer Orel Hershiser, athletic director Derek van der Merwe, baseball coach Kyle Hallock, and shortstop Tyler Ross were interviewed. TOLEDO, Ohio — A teenager was injured Thursday afternoon after a shooting in central Toledo that also struck multiple homes and a vehicle. According to a Toledo police report, officers received a ShotSpotter alert indicating 14 shots had been fired in the 400 block of West Delaware Avenue around 1 p.m. Crews responded to the area, where they located a scene and evidence; at the same time, they were informed by dispatch that a local hospital had received a walk-in gunshot wound victim.
