New program helps students with post-graduation certifications
As the Community Foundation continues to find new ways to support area college students, a new program, called the Completion, Testing, and Certification Mini Grant, has been established to help students complete their post-graduation certifications. Funded by the Dr. Larry Zimmer Scholarship Fund, this program aims to remove financial barriers and support all life needs during students’ post-secondary education.

A 34-year-old Clinton Township man was charged Thursday with the torture and imprisonment of a woman over a drug debt for several months, prosecutors said. Darren John Dawson was arraigned in 41B District Court on charges of torture, which carries a maximum penalty of up to life in prison. He was also charged with unlawful imprisonment, a 15-year felony, and larceny by conversion, a five-year felony.
