Trenton Announces City Wide Cleanup through August
Starting in August, the city of Trenton will initiate its City Wide Cleanup. The Cleanup will be done by ward on Saturdays; starting with the South Ward on Aug. 3, the North Ward on Aug. 10, the East Ward on Aug. 17, and the West Ward on Aug. 24. Removal will consist of yard waste and furniture. Please DO NOT leave construction debris, home renovation debris, chemicals, televisions, electronic devices, or unbundled wood/branches over 4ft long. Residents should place items on the curb by 7:00 a.m.

Five from Piscataway Named to University of Hartford’s Honor's Lists
WEST HARTFORD, CT -- The University of Hartford announced that 1,927 students have been named to the Dean's List and President's List for the Spring 2024 semester. The Dean's List recognizes students achieving superior academic standing. BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Beloved long time children’s librarian Laura Fuhro is retiring after 49 years, and was honored and had a proclamation read by Mayor Angie Devanney at the July 23 council meeting for her decades of service to the community. The New Jersey State Museum is participating in Trenton Public School’s Back to School Extravaganza on August 30. During this event, partners will provide on the spot health services, community resources and backpacks filled with new school supplies. In advance of the event, the school district is holding a school supply drive in to fill the backpacks that will be distributed.
TE Ben Rothhaar flips commitment to Rutgers
Rutgers landed another commitment in the class of 2025 today when Ben Rothhaar of Norwalk (Ohio) announced his plans to join the Scarlet Knights. The 6-foot-5, 210-pounder was previously committed to Kent State but has flipped to Rutgers. Rothhaar becomes the 30th commitment to the Rutgers 2025 class as he joined the program on a day when the staff was hosting an unofficial visitor barbecue for members of the class of 2026. The class of 2025 commits are expected to be on campus tomorrow.

Derek Gutierrez Makes History as 104th Open Champion at Plainfield Country Club
19-year-old Derek Gutierrez clinched a gutsy victory by three strokes at the 104th New Jersey Open Championship, becoming the first amateur winner since 2020.
