Sacramento police seek public's help in finding missing elderly man
SACRAMENTO, California — The Sacramento Police Department is requesting the community's assistance in locating a 71-year-old at-risk missing person, Rocky Mathews. Mathews, who is 5'8" and weighs 160 pounds, has gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen on July 19 around 10 a.m. near Bruceville Road and Alpine Frost Drive, according to a press release from the Sacramento Police Department. Mathews was wearing a red and black hat, red and black flannel shirt, black undershirt, Dickies-style shorts above the knee, white socks pulled up, black 49er gloves, and was carrying a black cane.

Bradford Sandoval, a local restaurant owner, has been hailed a hero after his daring rescue of a distressed swimmer on the American River.
