The Santa Rosa woman who was stabbed and killed Sunday night on a Santa Rosa trail was identified Wednesday. Lisa Shiffer-McCool, 61, was found unresponsive about 11 p.m. Sunday on the Prince Memorial Greenway, between Santa Rosa Avenue and A Street. A Sonoma County man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly assaulting employees while stealing items from at least two Ukiah businesses, the Ukiah Police Department reported. According to the UPD, officers responded to a restaurant in the 200 block of South Orchard Avenue when an employee (identified only as a 38-year-old Ukiah man) reported being assaulted by a man who ate there without paying for his food.
