Oshkosh Park Reopens After Archaeological Work
OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Menominee Park’s Pratt Trail has fully reopened to the public — with the remains of a Native American village preserved underneath. The road had been closed since last August when archaeological items of significance were found during construction. The city of Oshkosh worked with University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee experts and representatives of local tribal nations to make sure the work complied with state laws aimed at protecting historical sites.

7/2/24 American Legion Honors Ripon Police Officer Trevor Hanke
Ripon American Legion Post #43 last night honored Ripon Police Officer Trevor Hanke with their Police Officer of the Year Award. Over the past 25 years Officer Hanke has handled three K9s for the department. He brought his latest K9 partner Rony with him to the American Legion Monday evening. Rony is retiring at the end of the year after 10 years with Officer Hanke. The German Shepherd is a dual purpose K9, trained in narcotics and patrol work. Although Officer Hanke will continue with the police department, he will not be taking on another K9 partner. (Ripon Brown-Parfitt American Legion Post 43 photos).
