Sheldon High School receives over-budget bids
Finding ways to cut costs on Sheldon High School’s $33 million expansion and renovation project is tedious work. Sheldon School District superintendent Cory Myer worked with the school’s contracted companies, W.A. Klinger and CMBA Architects of Sioux City to find small ways to save money through value engineering and going through the project with a “fine-toothed comb.”

A Van Meter man did not go peacefully Monday when he was arrested on a Dallas County warrant by officers of the Van Meter Police Department. Luke Miller Jennings, 44, of 204 Second Ave., Van Meter, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation on an original charge of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and was also charged with third-degree harassment, interference with official acts and disorderly conduct.
